You see, we do have a lot of computers here. But my role in this story is a narrator, not Santa Claus. Stories have to keep some level of continuity otherwise they will not make much sense. A random collection of events can't really be called a story. There must be a sequence of cause and effect. Even if time shenanigans are involved. And you can make good use of this time stuff, to achieve the desired effect, in a way that would otherwise not be possible.
